The opening leg of our H22 Aon Cup in Liguria never disappoints, and this year, the hospitality of the Yacht Club Italiano proved to be exceptional once again. First things first: a heartfelt thank you to the entire team who, as always, ensured perfect logistics.
The weekend kicked off with a successful first day on Saturday, where, despite unpredictable weather and a few disturbances, the Race Committee managed to run three races. The northerly wind started off light but gradually increased throughout the afternoon.
At the end of the day, Marco Magnaghi’s ITA 139 temporarily topped the leaderboard, delivering consistent results at the front (2-3-3). In second place was ITA 126 El Torga (4-1-4), followed by ITA 137 with Maddalena Rossi (DNS-2-1).
Sunday brought no racing. After hours of waiting, a long swell and barely any wind put an end to any hopes of getting back on the water.
Thus, the provisional standings remained unchanged, and ITA 139 sailed home with its first victory!
